We all sat this morning and painted together - the children so love having the permission and freedom to use my old watercolours, and I really love it when we sit and paint side by side... it is a true joy, and already my three year old talks of how "even real artists make mistakes sometimes", letting me know that plenty of goodness has been imparted through our shared time crafting together...
We finally made bath bombs earlier in the week - something that has been on my list to try with the children for a long time, it is surprisingly easy and VERY exciting for the children... perfect for summer bath-times after lots of outside play, and we all really loved the radiant mood lifting essences that we used...
Last week with our cousins we made 'fruit punch' in a big bowl with a mixture of fresh fruit & juices, some lemonade, ice cubes, and fresh mint from the garden... again, it is so very simple but all the children found it really exciting to make and everyone young and old enjoyed their punch sipped gracefully from special glasses and cups...my children's group co-leader came up with the idea for our group and it was very popular there too!
I love simple things that bring simple joy. It always reminds me just how lucky we all truly are, with many serious things going on in the world just now, life here with the children young and close is a gift, and I feel lucky and grateful - as Rainbow-Love Fairy says - Life is a Flower!
(I will add this picture to the shop as a PDF download at some point after the holidays - it would make a lovely greetings card on a coloured background, with a touch of glitter perhaps!?!...)
